Newmont to agree to changes investment contract |

Mining firm Newmont says it may agree to a review of its investment agreement with government although it has a firm contract in place already.
Chief Executive Richard O’Brien disclosed this to miningweekly.com in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday.
The current investment agreement was entered into before development of the Ahafo mine began, and also includes Akyem. |

Government expresses surprise at GPRTU over urban transport project |

Government says it is surprised at the current stance taken by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to oppose the Urban Transport project which seeks to improve the traffic situation in the capital and in urban areas.
Deputy Transport Minister Dr. Nii Oakley Quaye-Kumah,tells Asempa News there has been an extensive interaction between government and all stakeholders spanning several years including the GPRTU, hence the turn around by the GPRTU comes as a shock.

Gov't delegation to name FPSO for Ghana Jubilee Project |

A high-powered Ghanaian delegation will assemble at the dockside of Singapore's Jurong Shipyard on Saturday, May 1, to participate in the commissioning of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Vessel of the Jubilee Project.
The delegation, which would witness one of the most anticipated milestones of the Jubilee Phase One Development Project include Government officials and Chief Executives of the partners of Jubilee Project.
The construction of the FPSO began in 2008 and involved the conversion of an existing VLCC tanker by MODEC, a leading international company in the FPSO industry that has been providing engineering, construction, installation and operation services for the last 25 years. |
