Mr. Oakley Quaye-Kuma, Deputy Minister of Health on Tuesday observed that absence of paediatric nurses had hindered Ghana's effort to improve child survival and mortality as inscribed in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)."It is therefore basic and imperative that cautious effort is made to train the needed category of workforce to help address the current health needs of this country," he said. |

Health alert: Achimota School to close down |

The Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA) has ordered the immediate closure of Achimota School, and warned that the continued spillage of waste from the school's sewerage system poses a health danger to the students. A letter to that effect, signed by Mr Jerry Thompson Amo of the Public Health Department of the AMA, has been delivered to the Headmistress of the school, Mrs Beatrice Adorn, after health inspectors found the situation on campus too dangerous to the health of the students. |
