Handlers of Ghana’s Under-20 team have confirmed that Jordan Ayew will miss their African Youth Championship title defence against Namibia on Sunday in Accra.
The Olympique Marseille ace’s pre-season training form has prompted officials of the French champions not to let loose their asset. On Tuesday night, he put up a swashbuckling performance by setting in side’s two goals in their 4-2 reverse against Toulouse.
Ayew, 18, has beguiling striking skills and is regarded as a play maker in the Ghana team. His elder brother, Andre, skippered Ghana to win both the African and World Youth Championships in 2009.
Meanwhile, Israel-based midfielder James Bissue arrived late Thursday afternoon and could not train with his team mates at the Ohene Djan Stadium. Bissue watched from the stands and moved straight to camp. He should be available for Friday’s session.
